Zeyd is a dragon scholar who tutored Seraphina for a short time.

Zeyd was employed by the Censors to test Orma's emotions by endangering his human niece. Unaware of her intentions, Orma had Claude hire Zeyd to be Seraphina's tutor. Zeyd taught Seraphina for a while, earning Seraphina's liking, but in a supposed "physics lesson" Zeyd dangled Seraphina off St. Gobnait's cathedral. She swung Seraphina around and threatened to drop her, trying to elicit an emotional response from Orma, but eventually conceded to his casually delivered arguments that killing Seraphina would be the end of the peace.
Needless to say, Zeyd was fired and left.
